The Language of Play - Kids that Listen, Speech Therapy, Language Development, Early Intervention

*** A Top 1.5% Podcast! *** Getting Kids to Listen, Speech Therapy, IEP, Communication with Kids, Parent Mentor, Family Connection Are you tired of repeating yourself with your children or wonder why they don’t listen? Are you afraid you are doing the wrong thing to help your kids communicate, but you are unsure what to do? Are you frustrated that your kids argue, whine or debate with you? Hey parents, you don’t need to stay overwhelmed, exhausted, and triggered by the fuss. In this podcast, you will find solutions to … get kids to listen better, build strong communication - even in the presence of a speech delay, and have boundaries that benefit kids. All while enhancing your relationships! My mission is to help puzzled, busy, worried parents read their child’s behavior as communication. When we understand what they are communicating, WE start to communicate differently! This is true of children with typical development, children in dual language homes, and children with delays. When Your Language allows for discovery, creativity, curiosity and exploration, connection is born. Connected kids are courageous and listen better. Connected kids have fewer meltdowns. Listen in to learn empowering strategies for teaching and listening! Hello, my name is Dinalynn Rosenbush, mom, grandma, Speech Language Pathologist of over 30 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of children with speech & language delays and navigated single parenthood. Through training and my own struggles, I learned to use specific language in specific ways that build connection. Our communication is not only our words, but it is the feeling our children have when we speak with them. Let’s create a home where exploration is welcomed, mistakes are stepping stones, and practice is expected. When kids believe you are on their team, eventually, they join your team! Because, what works for speech and language disabled children, simply works! I believe all parents should have access to these skills, not just specialists. It is my hope to give small nuggets of information in each episode to build your communication toolbox. So, if you are ready to build deep, meaningful connection AND create a more peaceful, productive and happy home. Listen in! Let’s interrupt the way you have been parenting. so that you CAN BECOME THE PARENT you WANT to be. I am glad you are here! Parenting partners are in important!
Sometimes these partners are the daycare provider or our best friends or maybe our own parents.
Either way, don't go it alone.

Hey Friends~
How often do you spend quality time in the same room with your whole family? And really, how much of that time is actually spent in doing an activity together?
Indeed, the demands of work, school, and the presence of technological distractions can often hinder the quality time spent with family.
In this episode, Coach Ambereen provides insights into her mission to transform the world by strengthening family unity. She focuses on creating genuine relational bonds centered around acceptance, gratitude, and shared value. Ambereen offers practical advice on improving family communications, nurturing connections, and overcoming common miscommunications.
Can we learn to foster better family connections through improved productivity, rather than busyness and distractions?  Can we cultivate shared values of gratitude and acceptance?  She shows us how to ground oneself,  practice mindfulness, manage energy, and teach children to meditate.
Lastly, she emphasizes the importance of understanding that life is by design, encouraging individuals to make wise choices, and stressing we all have control over our lives.

Always cheering you on!

Hey Friends~
Sometimes our children are quite articulate in what they say they want, but when we consider the meaning of what they say they want, we wonder,
“What? What are you talking about?”  Their behavior doesn’t make logical sense, while their words do.
If this has happened to you, you will enjoy this story in today’s episode. So grab your cup of coffee and sit down for a little laugh!

Hey Friends~
Valentines Day is associated with love, candy, flowers and romance.  For kids, it is associated with friends, games, and valentine cards with red candy!  Some of our children feel anxiety around Valentine's Day. Today, we will talk about some of those reasons for anxiety in our children and how we can handle it.
Key points:
Bad behavior? Remember: The child that acts the most unlovely needs love the most.
Worthiness is the issue? Celebrate your child for who they are not for what they do.

Always cheering you on!
