*** A Top 1.5% Podcast! *** Getting Kids to Listen, Speech Therapy, IEP, Communication with Kids, Parent Mentor, Family Connection Are you tired of repeating yourself with your children or wonder why they don’t listen? Are you afraid you are doing the wrong thing to help your kids communicate, but you are unsure what to do? Are you frustrated that your kids argue, whine or debate with you? Hey parents, you don’t need to stay overwhelmed, exhausted, and triggered by the fuss. In this podcast, you will find solutions to … get kids to listen better, build strong communication - even in the presence of a speech delay, and have boundaries that benefit kids. All while enhancing your relationships! My mission is to help puzzled, busy, worried parents read their child’s behavior as communication. When we understand what they are communicating, WE start to communicate differently! This is true of children with typical development, children in dual language homes, and children with delays. When Your Language allows for discovery, creativity, curiosity and exploration, connection is born. Connected kids are courageous and listen better. Connected kids have fewer meltdowns. Listen in to learn empowering strategies for teaching and listening! Hello, my name is Dinalynn Rosenbush, mom, grandma, Speech Language Pathologist of over 30 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of children with speech & language delays and navigated single parenthood. Through training and my own struggles, I learned to use specific language in specific ways that build connection. Our communication is not only our words, but it is the feeling our children have when we speak with them. Let’s create a home where exploration is welcomed, mistakes are stepping stones, and practice is expected. When kids believe you are on their team, eventually, they join your team! Because, what works for speech and language disabled children, simply works! I believe all parents should have access to these skills, not just specialists. It is my hope to give small nuggets of information in each episode to build your communication toolbox. So, if you are ready to build deep, meaningful connection AND create a more peaceful, productive and happy home. Listen in! Let’s interrupt the way you have been parenting. so that you CAN BECOME THE PARENT you WANT to be. I am glad you are here! Hey Friends!
Does it feel weird to tell your kids, "We are celebrating Mother's Day!" if you are only  talking about yourself?  We moms often feel like we can celebrate another mom, but ourselves, "well, we don't need to do that."  This isn't healthy thinking, but it is REAL!
This episode will explain how Celebrating YOU is really good for your kids.  And, I hope you feel loved and cared for along the way, even as we need to teach our children how to do it.
This episode is extra supportive for the single mom.  I was her. I remember.  I love you, moms.  Happy Mother's Day.
With love this Mother's Day,

Hey Friends,
How do you listen to what your child is NOT saying?  The tantrums give us something to listen to!  But that is NOT what WE want!  Is there a way to look at that tantrum or frustration and SEE what your child's body is saying?
Good practice for this comes when you have BIG, positive adjustments in your household. Maybe it is a new baby. Maybe a big trip. Maybe you are moving homes.  Whatever the adventure, your child will experience it differently than you, and it might not be a fun welcome - - at first!  It just takes a little adjustment. Today, we discuss 4 strategies to help you help your kiddos adjust!
Let's look at how we can read our littlest ones for clues to understand them better.
Ever learning along with you and cheering you on,
Dinalynn

Hello Friends,
Helping our children tell their experiences is an important task!  It's HOW we build connection.  Today's episode answers the question, "How do I get my child to talk about the past?"  The father that asked this question has a 2 year old, but this strategy is good for any age, including when a child has a delay or is learning a second or dual language!
Enjoy this one strategy, simple as it is, it takes practice to implement!

Hello Parents!  In the last episode, we talked about tantrums and meltdowns.  Sometimes sharing leads us right to an immediate tantrum or meltdown!  Why don't our kids what to share!??  What if I said you can change that change when you change your language?
Listen in to find a remarkable tool in understanding how to break apart the concept of Sharing into smaller chunks and teaching those chunks first!  You will be glad you listened!
Sincerely,
Dinalynn

Hello Parents!
We all have words we tell ourselves about ourselves.  Those words in our minds are sometimes kind, but often those words and messages are unkind! Instead of helping us meet our goals, those voices sabotage us. Our kids are the same way. The persistent message that derails what you really want is your "Saboteur."  We ALL have them and the patterns were established early in life.  There are 9 main voices.  By learning what your saboteurs are, you will be able to help yourself and your children have better self-talk. This leads to better behavior, better communication, and better connection.
I'm glad you are here!
