The Language of Play - Kids that Listen, Speech Therapy, Language Development, Early Intervention
*** A Top 1.5% Podcast! *** Getting Kids to Listen, Speech Therapy, IEP, Communication with Kids, Parent Mentor, Family Connection Are you tired of repeating yourself with your children or wonder why they don’t listen? Are you afraid you are doing the wrong thing to help your kids communicate, but you are unsure what to do? Are you frustrated that your kids argue, whine or debate with you? Hey parents, you don’t need to stay overwhelmed, exhausted, and triggered by the fuss. In this podcast, you will find solutions to … get kids to listen better, build strong communication - even in the presence of a speech delay, and have boundaries that benefit kids. All while enhancing your relationships! My mission is to help puzzled, busy, worried parents read their child’s behavior as communication. When we understand what they are communicating, WE start to communicate differently! This is true of children with typical development, children in dual language homes, and children with delays. When Your Language allows for discovery, creativity, curiosity and exploration, connection is born. Connected kids are courageous and listen better. Connected kids have fewer meltdowns. Listen in to learn empowering strategies for teaching and listening! Hello, my name is Dinalynn Rosenbush, mom, grandma, Speech Language Pathologist of over 30 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of children with speech & language delays and navigated single parenthood. Through training and my own struggles, I learned to use specific language in specific ways that build connection. Our communication is not only our words, but it is the feeling our children have when we speak with them. Let’s create a home where exploration is welcomed, mistakes are stepping stones, and practice is expected. When kids believe you are on their team, eventually, they join your team! Because, what works for speech and language disabled children, simply works! I believe all parents should have access to these skills, not just specialists. It is my hope to give small nuggets of information in each episode to build your communication toolbox. So, if you are ready to build deep, meaningful connection AND create a more peaceful, productive and happy home. Listen in! Let’s interrupt the way you have been parenting. so that you CAN BECOME THE PARENT you WANT to be. I am glad you are here! It's true.
Improv improves listening skills for parents and kids! This is a practical application to all communication. Improv isn’t just for laughter. It’s not just for comedy. Improve creates better listeners that are more present, more engaged, more joyful, and less stressed.

Improv is listening that drops everything but in engagement. You become a confident communicator who gets your child to listen - by your example. Being good at Improv CREATES IN YOU, AS A PARENT, the skills you want to exemplify in your children. We learn playful ways to smooth out conflict in our homes. So many benefits!!

ABOUT THE GUEST: LYNN GREENBERG
Lynn Greenberg is the happiest wife, mom, and grandma. A very retired attorney who loves to cook, exercise, and read, she has seen how positivity with feelings and differences can allow children to grow into happy, productive adults. During COVID-19, when many families were living together with an abundance of unscheduled free time, Lynn and her son Jonathan, who has dyslexia, began to work on the concepts and ideas for Robby. As ideas developed, they became increasingly invested in the character, his story, and the impact this endeavor could have on others.

ABOUT THE GUEST: ALY YOUNG
Aly's background in psychology and sociology led her to explore her passion for education and learning by teaching in various settings, ranging from private to public to charter schools. In every school, Aly noticed that there were always kids who struggled with the material, not because they weren’t smart or weren’t trying, but because the approach was wrong.
Aly knows struggling learners because she's been there, and she has seen how the system fails so many children who learn differently so she decided to do something about it. She is now the owner of Learning Lab where she supports struggling learners.
